For those looking for an accommodation close to the town of Banff and all its restaurants, the Fairmont Banff Springs is hard to beat. Built in 1888 as one of Canada's first railway hotels, Fairmont Banff Springs offers a charming combination of history, Châteauesque architecture and luxurious comfort. The hotel also offers high end restaurants serving from French-inspired foods to gastronomic experiences focused on premier Alberta beef.

If you are looking for a stay full of comfort but further away from the city, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise offers unbeatable views of Canada's most photographed lake. Nestled on the shores of Lake Louise and surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the hotel feels like a postcard brought to life. Whether you’re sipping coffee on your balcony or canoeing across the turquoise waters in summer, the setting is nothing short of magical. Inside, the hotel offers elegant rooms, fine dining options, and a tranquil spa — ideal for couples seeking serenity and luxury in the heart of the Rockies.

The Rimrock Resort Hotel

For a stay in the mountains with heartwarming sunrises and sunsets and easy access to thermal springs, The Rimrock Resort Hotel is the right option for your getaway. Perched high above the Bow Valley, this resort offers sweeping views of Banff National Park, cozy alpine charm, and a more secluded, romantic atmosphere. Couples can unwind in the hotel’s award-winning spa, enjoy a cocktail by the fireplace, or take a short walk to the nearby Banff Upper Hot Springs for a soak in natural mineral waters. The Rimrock blends peaceful luxury with the untamed beauty of the surrounding wilderness, making it a perfect retreat for honeymooners.

Unforgettable Hikes

Moraine Lake

Located nearby Banff, Morraine Lake offers a perfect sunrise destination to enjoy intimate moments of quietness with your partner and great location to capture some honeymoon pictures! Keep in mind that you cannot drive a private vehicle to this area, so you will have to take the Parks Canada shuttle operating from July 1 to October 13. Seats for the shuttle must be reserved in advance here.

For a peaceful walk just outside the town of Banff, the Hoodoos Trail offers a scenic and less-crowded alternative for couples seeking connection with nature. This moderate trail winds along the ridges above the Bow River and leads to a viewpoint overlooking the unique sandstone spires known as the hoodoos. Don’t miss the Surprise Corner Lookout at the start of the trail, where you’ll get a postcard-worthy view of the Fairmont Banff Springs framed by the mountains.

Expanding as far as the eye can see, Lake Minnewanka is one of the most enchanting spots in Banff National Park for stargazing. The lake offers clear, dark skies that reveal a breathtaking canvas of stars, perfect for quiet, romantic moments under the night sky. Guided night tours are available for those who want to deepen their appreciation of astronomy, with expert storytellers pointing out constellations and celestial events. And if you’re lucky, you may even witness the northern lights dancing across the sky — an unforgettable moment to share, and a honeymoon memory that will last a lifetime.

Horseback Riding Around Banff

For couples craving a deeper connection with nature and a taste of Banff’s wild heart, horseback riding offers an unforgettable way to explore. With the majestic Rockies as your backdrop, you’ll ride alongside crystal-clear rivers, through peaceful forest trails, and across meadows that feel untouched by time. Banff Trail Riders offers a variety of excursions, ranging from one-hour rides to four hour adventures. Many trails lead to spots only accessible by horse or foot, giving you a more intimate perspective of the park. Some tours finish with a cozy BBQ cookout, complete with campfire charm and hearty food to makes you feel like a true mountain pioneer.
